Happy official first day of summer hits, music lovers! As the sun gets brighter and days grow longer, it’s time to crank up those tunes that define our summer days. Billboard has graciously compiled the top tracks on every Hot 100 chart from summer 1958 to 2024, but we’re setting our sights on the last decade’s chartbusters to see what made us dance, sing, and groove.

For 2024, Post Malone featuring Morgan Wallen took over with ‘I Had Some Help’, a perfect blend of catchy beats and irresistible hooks. Morgan Wallen also topped 2023’s charts with ‘Last Night’, proving his knack for crafting the ultimate summer anthem. And who can forget Harry Styles’ ‘As It Was’ serenading us through 2022?

The summer of 2021 was all about ‘Butter’ from BTS, a track so smooth it melted hearts worldwide. 2020 saw DaBaby featuring Roddy Ricch dominating with ‘Rockstar’, a fitting anthem for the tumultuous year. ‘Old Town Road’ by Lil Nas X featuring Billy Ray Cyrus was the undeniable earworm of 2019, while 2018 had us all doing the ‘In My Feelings’ challenge with Drake.

Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s ‘Despacito’ featuring Justin Bieber had us swaying through 2017, and Drake’s ‘One Dance’ featuring WizKid and Kyla was the 2016 anthem. Finally, 2015 brought us the reggae-pop delight ‘Cheerleader’ by OMI.

As for the summer anthem of 2025? It’s up in the air, but AP News has some tantalizing predictions. Sabrina Carpenter’s ‘Manchild’ is a strong contender, with Morgan Wallen continuing his hot streak alongside Tate McRae in ‘What I Want’. Alex Warren’s ‘Ordinary’ is making waves, and Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s ‘Luther’ promises to bring some serious heat. Addison Rae’s ‘Fame Is a Gun’ is also shooting for the top.

So, who will capture the essence of Summer 2025? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure, these tracks will be the accompanying soundtrack to countless summer memories.
