Corgi Comeback! Juno Snags Last-Second Win at Royal Race in England

A little royal drama and a whole lot of tail-wagging excitement unfolded in England this past weekend as Juno, a determined corgi with serious paw-power, pulled off a come-from-behind victory at the country’s beloved annual corgi race.

The event — now a cherished tradition — is held each year in honor of Queen Elizabeth II, who famously adored the breed. In fact, the late monarch owned more than 30 corgis over her lifetime, and this race is just one of the many tributes that keeps her legacy running… quite literally.

The course was full of furry chaos, as excited corgis lined up at the starting gate in royal fashion, some charging ahead while others got a little distracted (sniffing, rolling, you know, corgi things). But it was Juno who stole the show — lagging early on, then blazing forward in the final seconds to snag the crown. The crowd went wild, and yes, there was a tiny dog-sized trophy involved.

While it may not be the Grand National, the annual corgi race has fast become a national favorite. With bouncy strides, floppy ears, and enough royal spirit to rival Buckingham Palace, these pint-sized racers carry more than just speed — they carry tradition.

Juno’s surprise win will no doubt go down in corgi lore, proving once again that it’s not how you start — it’s how adorably you finish.
