Well, hold onto your spatulas because a new poll just dropped, and it’s shaking up the condiment hierarchy!
In a surprising twist, mayonnaise has taken the crown as America’s most loved condiment, leaving the classic ketchup and mustard trailing in its creamy wake. Out of 7,000 participants polled, a whopping 30% declared their love for mayo, narrowly edging out ketchup at 29% and mustard at 25%. And poor relish? It lags behind, with only 13% of the vote.
But don’t start tossing your ketchup just yet. When we consider those who merely ‘like’ these condiments, ketchup still holds a special place in American hearts. A hefty 85% of us either like or love ketchup, compared to 80% for mayo and 78% for mustard.
Unfortunately for relish, it appears to be the black sheep of the condiment family. A significant 14% of us can’t stand the stuff, making it the most divisive of the group. Ketchup, on the other hand, boasts the fewest haters, with only 4% disliking it. And if you were wondering, many of those ketchup dissenters hail from the Windy City itself—Chicago.
