Justin Bieber Skips the Met Gala for a Frozen Music Retreat in Iceland

Forget the red carpet — Justin Bieber traded tuxedos for thermal gear and the bustling streets of NYC for the serene snowscapes of Iceland. While fans speculated over his absence at the 2025 Met Gala alongside wife Hailey, the real reason was far chillier and far more creative: he was tucked away in the Arctic Circle, crafting new music in a remote luxury lodge.

Sources close to the star say he was in his element. “He seemed at peace, and the Iceland setting seemed like it was the perfect retreat,” one insider shared. With a detached recording studio and stunning natural surroundings, the retreat was tailor-made for artistic inspiration.

And Justin didn’t just hit the studio — he dove headfirst into everything the icy escape had to offer. According to a lodge rep, Bieber and his entourage “immersed themselves in everything the lodge has to offer… from invigorating cold plunges to fireside sauna sessions, heli-snowboarding, fat biking, and more.”

(Fat biking, for those not in the know, is mountain biking taken to the next level — with oversized tires to glide across snow and rugged terrain.)

Bieber’s love affair with Iceland isn’t new. He famously filmed his cinematic 2015 music video for “I’ll Show You” there, capturing the country’s ethereal landscapes long before it became a hotspot for globe-trotting influencers.

This time, however, he wasn’t there for the visuals — he was there for the vibes. With his crew close and distractions far away, it looks like Bieber is channeling some serious Arctic energy into his next album. Could this icy escape be the secret sauce behind his next big hit?

Only time — and Spotify streams — will tell.
