Coachella Chaos: Gaga’s Mic Fails, Benson Boone Trolls with Cardboard Queen, and Green Day Sparks Feud Rumors

Weekend 2 of Coachella 2025 was far from mellow in the desert. From surprise guests to trolling antics, prison performances, and mic malfunctions, the second round of music madness brought major energy — and more than a few head-tilting moments.

Here are the juiciest highlights from the Indio stage:

1. Benson Boone’s Brian May… Is Made of Cardboard?
Last weekend, Benson Boone brought out actual Queen guitarist Brian May, but the crowd’s reaction was so underwhelming, he decided to poke a little fun this time. Enter: cardboard Brian May. It was a hilarious (and slightly savage) moment that actually got more cheers than the real deal. Coachella’s weird like that.

2. Lady Gaga’s Mic Glitch? She Owned It.
Mid-performance of “Abracadabra,” Gaga’s mic gave out. But Mother Monster handled it like a queen, shouting to the crowd:

“At least you know I sing live!”
Mic drop — except this one didn’t work. Still iconic.

3. Ty Dolla $ign Brings Prison Vocals to the Desert
Ty Dolla $ign moved the crowd when he played video footage of his brother, Big TC, singing from prison, backed live by a full choir onstage. The emotional moment was one of the festival’s most powerful surprises.

4. Gustavo Dudamel + L.A. Philharmonic = Desert Magic
Yes, Coachella had a conductor this year. Gustavo Dudamel and the L.A. Phil took over Saturday night with a genre-mashing set featuring Dave Grohl, Cynthia Erivo, and Natasha Bedingfield. Somehow, it worked. It was highbrow meets high volume.

5. Green Day vs. Charli XCX?
Tensions — or maybe just playful jabs — flew as Green Day dropped a few pointed comments during their set that had fans wondering: are they feuding with Charli XCX? Or just goofing? Nothing confirmed, but social media is already dissecting it like it’s a lost B-side.

6. The Weeknd & Jenna Ortega Tease New Movie
Rounding out the weekend’s celeb drop-ins, The Weeknd and Jenna Ortega made a surprise appearance to promote their new film “Hurry Up Tomorrow.” No trailer yet, but fans got merch and moody teaser clips.

Coachella 2025 may be wrapping, but one thing’s for sure: the drama’s gonna echo long after the desert dust settles.
